Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts40. Penalty for carrying on business etc. while unlicensed
(1) A person shall not carry on a business of a stevedore within the Port unless he or she holds a licence to do so which has not been suspended.
Penalty: If the offender is a natural person - 500 penalty units and 5 penalty units for each day the offence continues.
If the offender is a body corporate - 2 500 penalty units and 25 penalty units for each day the offence continues.
(2) In any proceedings for an offence against subsection (1), an averment by the prosecutor in a complaint or information that a specified person was unlicensed at the time when the offence was committed is evidence of the fact so averred.
