Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) Despite the repeal of the Northern Territory University Act by section 49, the University established by section 4 of that Act continues in existence under this Act as the Charles Darwin University.
(2) The University:
(a) is a body corporate with perpetual succession;
(b) has a common seal;
(c) is capable, in its corporate name, of acquiring, holding and disposing of real (including leasehold) and personal property; and
(d) is capable, in its corporate name, of suing and being sued.
(3) A court, judge or persons acting judicially must take judicial notice of the common seal of the University affixed to a document and must presume that it was duly affixed.
