to repeal the Stock (Artificial Breeding) Act and to amend certain other laws consequential on the repeal

E it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory of Australia, with the assent as provided by the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978 of the Commonwealth, as follows:

1. SHORT TITLE
This Act may be cited as the Stock (Artificial Breeding) Act Repeal Act 1998.

2. REPEAL
The following Acts are repealed:

Stock (Artificial Breeding) Act No. 129, 1979

Stock (Artificial Breeding) Amendment Act No. 8, 1990

Stock (Artificial Breeding) Amendment Act No. 50, 1996

3. AMENDMENT OF STOCK DISEASES ACT
Section 11 of the Stock Diseases Act is amended by omitting from subsection (3) ", the Stock (Artificial Breeding) Act".

4. AMENDMENT OF VETERINARIANS REGULATIONS
Regulation 7 of the Veterinarians Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (1)(e) ", where that is not in contravention of section 12 of the Stock (Artificial Breeding) Act".

5. EXPIRY
This Act expires on the day after the day on which it comes into operation.
