Pensions) Act and Administrators Pensions Act

The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts
as follows:
PART
1 – PRELIMINARY MATTERS
Short title
This Act may be cited as the Judges and Administrators
Pensions Legislation Amendment Act 2006.

2 – AMENDMENT OF Supreme Court (Judges
Pensions) Act

This Part amends the Supreme Court (Judges Pensions)
Act.
Amendment of section 5 (Pension to surviving partner on death
of Judge)

Legislation Amendment Act 2006
(1) The amendments made to this Act by Part 2 of the
Judges and Administrators Pensions Legislation Amendment Act 2006 have
effect in relation to anyone holding office as a Judge before, on or after the
commencement of this section.
(2) However, the amendments do not create an entitlement to
an amount of pension for a period before the commencement of this
section.

3 – AMENDMENT OF Administrators Pensions

This Part amends the Administrators Pensions
Act.
Amendment of section 5 (Pension of spouse or de facto
partner)

Legislation Amendment Act 2006
(1) The amendments made to this Act by Part 3 of the
Judges and Administrators Pensions Legislation Amendment Act 2006 have
effect in relation to:
(a) the current Administrator within the meaning of section
3AA; and
(b) anyone who held office as Administrator before the
current Administrator.
(2) However, the amendments do not create an entitlement to
an amount of pension for a period before the commencement of this
section.
