An Act to amend the Information Act

The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts as follows:

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Information Amendment Act 2008.

Act amended

This Act amends the Information Act.

Amendment of section 45 (Executive Council, Cabinet, Territory economy)

Section 45(1)(a)(i)

omit, substitute

(i) was brought into existence for submission to and consideration by an Executive body (and that was the dominant purpose for bringing the information into existence) and the information was submitted to and considered by the Executive body;

Amendment of section 156 (Fees for applications and complaints)

After section 156(2)

insert

(2A) However, no fee applies to an application or complaint made by a member of the Legislative Assembly.
