New South Wales Repealed RegulationsThis legislation has been repealed.
(1) For the purposes of section 30 (1) of the Act, the manner of making an application for a permit is by lodging an application in the approved form:(a) with the police officer in charge of a police station that is:(i) nearest to the place of residence of the applicant, or(ii) in the case of an application for a permit that relates to a person’s business or employment-nearest to the applicant’s relevant place of business or employment, or(b) at such other place as may be approved.
(2) In the case of an applicant for a permit who is not a resident of Australia, the application may be sent by post to the Firearms Registry in Sydney.
(3) An application for a permit must be lodged personally by the applicant or in such other manner as may be approved.
(4) The Commissioner may refuse to issue a permit unless the applicant provides proof of his or her identity to the satisfaction of the Commissioner.
