New South Wales Repealed RegulationsThis legislation has been repealed.
(1) A Board has the following functions in relation to the natural resources and communities in the area in respect of which the Board is established:(a) to identify the critical opportunities, problems and threats associated with the use of natural resources so as to support rural production and to protect the environment, and(b) to identify the critical first order objectives and targets for the management of natural resources, having regard to any legislation or relevant Government policy, and(c) to develop management options, strategies and actions to address the identified objectives and targets, and(d) to assist in developing a greater understanding within the community of the issues identified and action required to support rural production and protect the environment, and(e) to initiate proposals for projects to achieve those functions and assess projects submitted for funding under Commonwealth and State natural resource management grant programs having regard to targets identified by the Board.
(2) A Board must, within 12 months after the appointment of the trustees constituting the Board, and at such other times as the Minister may require, report to the Minister on the progress of the Board in the performance of its functions under this clause.
