Podiatrists Registration Board

19 Podiatrists Registration Board

(1) There is constituted by this Act a corporation under the corporate name Podiatrists Registration Board.
(2) The Board has the functions conferred or imposed on it by or under this or any other Act.
(3) The Board shall consist of 9 members appointed by the Governor.
(4) Of the members:
(a) 3 shall be registered podiatrists nominated by the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW), and
(b) 6 shall be nominated by the Minister and shall comprise:
(i) 2 registered podiatrists, at least one of whom, in the opinion of the Minister, has expertise in matters relating to education, and
(ii) a barrister or solicitor, and
(iii) a person to represent the community, and
(iv) an officer of the Department of Health or an employee of a public health organisation within the meaning of the Health Services Act 1997 , and
(v) a medical practitioner.
(5) Schedule 1 has effect with respect to the members of the Board.
(6) Schedule 2 has effect with respect to the procedure of the Board.
(7) If the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW), does not nominate a person within such time or in such manner as may be specified by the Minister by notice in writing to the Association, the Governor may instead appoint to be a member a person nominated by the Minister.
