(1) The Board may determine that an inquiry be conducted into a complaint against a registered podiatrist under section 14.
(2) The inquiry shall be conducted either by the Board or by a Professional Standards Committee authorised by it under section 22 to conduct the inquiry.
(3) The secretary shall give not less than 7 days’ notice of the inquiry to:(a) the registered podiatrist concerned, and(b) the person who made the complaint.
(4) An inquiry shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements (if any) of the regulations.
(5) In an inquiry:(a) the registered podiatrist concerned, and(b) the person who made the complaint,are entitled to be heard and to be represented by a barrister or solicitor.
(6) In conducting an inquiry, the Board or a Professional Standards Committee is not bound by the rules of evidence but may inform itself of any matter in such manner as it thinks fit.
