(1) The regulations may require a reference in any other Act or in any instrument under any other Act to a barrister or solicitor to be construed as a reference to a specified class of legally qualified persons, including:(a) as a reference to a legal practitioner within the meaning of this Act, or(b) in the case of a reference to a barrister--as a reference to a barrister, or a barrister or solicitor, within the meaning of this Act, or(c) in the case of a reference to a solicitor--as a reference to a solicitor, or a solicitor or barrister, within the meaning of this Act.
(2) Subject to any such regulation, a reference in any other Act or in any instrument under any other Act to a barrister or solicitor is, so far as the reference relates to a barrister or solicitor of New South Wales, taken to be a reference to a legal practitioner within the meaning of this Act. This subsection has effect except in so far as the context or subject-matter otherwise indicates or requires.
