Development for the purpose of advertisements
51 Development for the purpose of advertisements
(2) Advertisements allowed only with consent Development for the purpose of an
advertisement other than development that is exempt development or is
prohibited by subclause (4) may be carried out only with development consent.
(3) Despite any other provision of this Plan, development may be carried out
with consent on any land for the purpose of an advertisement that directs the
travelling public to a specific tourist facility or place of scientific
interest, if the Council is satisfied that: (a) the principal purpose of the
advertisement is to direct the travelling public to that building or place,
and
(b) the dimensions and overall size of the advertisement are not larger
than would reasonably be required to direct the travelling public.
(4)
Advertisements prohibited Development for the purpose of an advertisement on
land within Zone No 6 (a), 7 (d) or 7 (e) (other than development that is
exempt development or is permitted by subclause (3)) is prohibited.
