ROAD TRANSPORT (VEHICLE REGISTRATION) REGULATION 2007 - REG 6
Eligible vehicles
(1) A registrable vehicle is eligible to be registered without conditions if:
(a) the vehicle complies with the applicable vehicle standards for the
vehicle, and
(b) the requirements of any applicable third party insurance
legislation and duty legislation are complied with in respect of the vehicle,
and
(c) the vehicle is owned by, or is under the management of, a person who
is eligible to be a registered operator of the vehicle.
(2) Despite subclause
(1), the Authority may refuse to register a registrable vehicle if the
Authority is satisfied that: (a) the vehicle has been registered in another
State or a Territory, and
(b) the registration in that State or Territory has
been cancelled or suspended, and
(c) the reasons for the cancellation or
suspension still exist.
