REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGULATION 2004 - REG 2 Commencement 2 Commencement This Regulation commences on 1 December 2004. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGULATION 2004 - REG 3 Definition 3 Definition In this Regulation: "the Act" means the Regional Development Act 2004. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGULATION 2004 - REG 4 Sydney metropolitan area 4 Sydney metropolitan area For the purposes of section 4 (1) of the Act, the local government areas that constitute the Sydney metropolitan area are as follows: Ashfield, Auburn, Bankstown, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Botany Bay, Burwood, Camden, Campbelltown, Canada Bay, Canterbury, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Hurstville, Kogarah, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Leichhardt, Liverpool, Manly, Marrickville, Mosman, North Sydney, Parramatta, Penrith, Pittwater, Randwick, Rockdale, Ryde, Strathfield, Sutherland Shire, Sydney, Warringah, Waverley, Willoughby, Wollondilly, Woollahra. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGULATION 2004 - NOTES Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Regional Development Act 2004. Minister for Regional Development REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGULATION 2004 - NOTES Explanatory note The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the local government areas that constitute the Sydney metropolitan area for the purposes of the Regional Development Act 2004. The Act provides for financial assistance to those areas of New South Wales outside the Sydney metropolitan area. This Regulation is made under the Regional Development Act 2004, including sections 4 (1) and 16 (the general regulation- making power).
