RADIATION CONTROL REGULATION 2003 - REG 16
Radiation safety manual
16 Radiation safety manual
(1) The Director-General may, by notice in writing served on an employer,
direct the employer: (a) to prepare or adopt a radiation safety manual, and
(b) to submit a copy of the manual to the Authority for approval,
within such
time as is specified in the direction.
(2) An employer must not fail to
comply with such a direction. Maximum penalty: 25 penalty units.
(3) An
employer whose radiation safety manual has been approved by the Authority: (a)
must ensure that a copy of the manual is available to all occupationally
exposed persons employed by the employer, and
(b) must take all reasonable
steps to ensure that the procedures set out in the manual with respect to the
use of radioactive substances and radiation apparatus are followed by all
persons in his or her employ.
Maximum penalty: 25 penalty units.
(4) A
radiation safety manual is not to be approved by the Authority unless it
conforms to the document adopted by the Authority and entitled Guideline:
Preparation of Radiation Safety Manuals , a copy of which is deposited in the
offices of the Authority.
