PENRITH LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 2010 - REG 7.4

7.4 Sustainable development

In deciding whether to grant development consent for development, the consent authority must have regard to the principles of sustainable development as they relate to the development based on a "whole of building" approach by considering each of the following--

(a) conserving energy and reducing carbon dioxide emissions,

(b) embodied energy in materials and building processes,

(c) building design and orientation,

(d) passive solar design and day lighting,

(e) natural ventilation,

(f) energy efficiency and conservation,

(g) water conservation and water reuse,

(h) waste minimisation and recycling,

(i) reduction of vehicle dependence,

(j) potential for adaptive reuse.
