Maintenance requirements
11 Maintenance requirements
(1) For the purposes of section 46 of the Act, the prescribed maintenance
requirements for a regulated system are that the system must be maintained in
accordance with AS/NZS 3666.2:2002Air-handling and water systems of
buildings-Microbial control-Operation and maintenance .
(2) For the purposes
of section 46 of the Act, the prescribed maintenance requirements for water
cooling system are either: (a) that the system must be maintained in
accordance with AS/NZS 3666.2:2002Air-handling and water systems of
buildings-Microbial control-Operation and maintenance , or
(b) if the local
authority for the premises in which the system is located has been notified of
the fact, that the system must be maintained in accordance with AS/NZS 3666.3
2000Air-handling and water systems of buildings-Microbial control-
Performance-based maintenance of cooling water systems .
(3) For the purposes
of the carrying out of maintenance requirements prescribed by this clause, all
tests must be carried out in a laboratory accredited by the National
Association of Testing Authorities for that purpose.
(4) For the purposes of
the carrying out of maintenance requirements prescribed by subclause (2) (b),
a reference in AS/NZS 3666.3 2000Air-handling and water systems of
buildings-Microbial control-Performance-based maintenance of cooling water
systems to a person competent to evaluate the condition of a cooling water
system is a reference to an engineer who is: (a) a corporate member of the
Institution of Engineers, and
(b) registered on the National Professional
Register for Engineers in the general area of practice of building services.
