90 Display of vessel registration number
(1) The owner or operator of a registered vessel must not operate the vessel,
or permit the vessel to be operated, unless the vessel registration number set
out in the vessel registration certificate for the vessel--
(a) is displayed--
(i) in the case of a sailing vessel, on the transom or on each side of the
vessel, or
(ii) in any other case, on each side of the vessel, and
(b)
contains figures that are--
(i) in the case of a personal watercraft or
sailing vessel, at least 100 millimetres high, or
(ii) in any other case, at
least 150 millimetres high, and
(c) is in a contrasting colour to the hull so
that it is clearly distinguishable.
(2) The owner or the operator of a
registered vessel must not operate the vessel, or permit the vessel to be
operated, if any vessel registration number that is required by this clause to
be displayed on the vessel is in any way defaced, obliterated or concealed.
