MARINE PARKS (ZONING PLANS) REGULATION 1999 - REG 3.19

3.19 Shell, shell grit and fossil collecting restricted

(1) A person may collect shell or shell grit for recreational purposes while in the marine park, other than in the sanctuary zone.

(2) A person may collect fossils only for research purposes while in the marine park.

(3) Subclause (1) is subject to the Fisheries Management Act 1994 .

Note: Pursuant to clause 1.31 (Organised research activities) of this Regulation a person requires the consent of the Minister before carrying out research referred to in subclause (2) if the research is for any purpose other than the person’s personal interest or enjoyment.
