MANAGEMENT OF WATERS AND WATERSIDE LANDS REGULATIONS--N.S.W. - REG 90A
Lights to be exhibited on lighters moored alongside vessels or at wharves
90A Lights to be exhibited on lighters moored alongside vessels or at wharves
(1) There shall be exhibited between sunset and sunrise on: (a) subject to
paragraph (b), any lighter which is moored alongside a vessel or to any wharf,
or
(b) the outer lighter only of any two lighters which are moored abreast
alongside a vessel or to any wharf,
at the fore and after ends of the lighter
above the extreme outer edge thereof, a white light of such strength and in a
lantern so constructed as to show a clear uniform and unbroken light visible
all round the lighter at a distance of at least 800 metres.
(2) If a
requirement of this Regulation is not complied with: (a) where the lighter is
moored alongside a vessel or where two lighters are moored abreast alongside a
vessel, as the case may be, both the owner and the master of the vessel shall
be guilty of an offence against this Regulation, or
(b) where the lighter is
moored to a wharf or where two lighters are moored abreast to a wharf, as the
case may be, the owner of the lighter failing to comply with this Regulation
shall be guilty of an offence against this Regulation.
