Restrictions on use of lands and structures
5 Restrictions on use of lands and structures
(1) The Board may, for the purposes of regulating the conduct of persons using
or being upon or in any land, wharf, depot, shed, warehouse or other place
vested in or controlled by the Board (in this Regulation referred to as a
"controlled area"), for the prevention of the improper use thereof and of
objectionable or dangerous conduct thereon or therein, and the prevention of
damage or injury thereto, or to any goods, cargo, plant, machinery, vehicles
or things, or to other persons, thereon or therein, erect or cause to be
erected signs and notices on, in or in the vicinity of a controlled area,
prohibiting or regulating the presence of persons or of persons of a class or
classes or of persons other than of a class or classes stated in any such sign
or notice, on or in that controlled area, or the use by persons of that
controlled area for a purpose or purposes or otherwise than for a purpose or
purposes stated in such sign or notice.
(2) A person who fails to comply with
any of the provisions of a sign or notice erected or caused to be erected in a
conspicuous position by order of, and kept in a legible condition by, the
Board under this Regulation, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding
$1,500.
