New South Wales Consolidated RegulationsThe aim of this plan is to maximise the opportunities for the people of the region and the State to meet their individual and community economic and social needs with particular reference to the way in which these needs are related to the allocation, availability, accessibility and management of the region’s land resources having regard to the objectives specified in Parts 2-16, by:
(a) identifying regional planning issues and provisions applicable or potentially applicable:(i) to actual development which may be carried out on land within the region, and(ii) to the overall planning of the region consistent with the policies for draft local environmental plan preparation specified in Part 2-16,
(b) advising Government, public authorities and other persons in determining the way in which they may:(i) manage their land resources,(ii) exercise their functions,(iii) order their priorities and allocation of their funds in relation to the planning of the region, having regard to the principles specified in Parts 2-16, and
(c) establishing parameters and controls relating to development, particularly as they relate to the environmental quality and social well-being of residents of the region.
