GREAT LAKES LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 1996 - REG 2
What are the aims and objectives of this plan?
2 What are the aims and objectives of this plan?
(1) The aims of this plan are: (a) to provide an updated and simplified plan
for the area of Great Lakes, and
(b) to protect and enhance the environmental
qualities of the area, and
(c) to facilitate the orderly and economic
development of land within the area, and
(d) to promote the well-being of the
area’s population.
(2) The objectives of this plan are: (a) to provide a
land use framework to guide the future use of the land within the area of
Great Lakes, and
(b) to provide a basis for the preparation of detailed
development control plans, and
(c) to protect environmentally sensitive areas
and the heritage of the area, and
(d) to improve opportunities for
ecologically sustainable development, and
(e) to provide for the cultural
needs of and the equitable provision of services and facilities for the
community.
