Possession and storage of certain explosives-emergency service
53 Possession and storage of certain explosives-emergency service
(1) An emergency service is not required to be authorised by a licence in
order to possess or store explosives or explosive precursors that have come
into the possession of a member of the emergency service in an emergency
situation (for example, ammunition or explosives that have been confiscated
and stored by a police officer).
(2) In this clause,
"emergency service" includes any of the following: (a) the Ambulance Service
of New South Wales,
(b) New South Wales Fire Brigades,
(c) the NSW Rural
Fire Service,
(d) the NSW Police Force,
(e) the State Emergency Service,
(f) the New South Wales Volunteer Rescue Association Incorporated,
(g) the
New South Wales Mines Rescue Brigade established under the Coal Industry Act
2001 ,
(h) an accredited rescue unit within the meaning of the
State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989 .
