CHILDREN'S SERVICES REGULATION 2004 - REG 44
Hot water
44 Hot water
(1) Centre based children’s service Hot water from any outlet accessible to
children at a centre based children’s service must be regulated to keep the
temperature of water from the outlet below 43.5 degrees Celsius.
(2) Family
day care and home based children’s service Children under school age who are
provided with a children’s service at the home of a family day care carer or
home based licensee must not have unsupervised access to any hot water supply.
(3) Children of school age who are provided with a children’s service at the
home of a family day care carer or home based licensee must not have
unsupervised access to any hot water supply unless the hot water supply is
regulated so as to keep it below the temperature at which a child can be
scalded.
