12 Objections to proposal to constitute an area as a Local Aboriginal Land
Council area
(1) Ten or more adult Aboriginal persons, each of whom resides in or has an
association with the area in respect of which an application under this
Division is made, may object to the proposal or any part of the proposal
contained in the application.
(2) An objection must: (a) be made in writing,
and
(b) be lodged with the Registrar not later than 30 clear days after
publication of notice of the application in the Gazette, and
(c) set out the
grounds of the objection, and
(d) specify an address for service of notices
on the objectors.
(3) An objection may be withdrawn at any time by notice to
the Registrar or, if the objection has been referred to the Court, in
accordance with the rules of the Court.
