(1) An application for a permit must be made to the Commissioner in an
approved manner and the fee prescribed by the regulations for the application
must be paid when the application is made or as otherwise approved.
(2) The
application must include or be accompanied by such information and particulars
as may be prescribed by the regulations.
(3) An applicant for a permit must
provide proof of the applicant's identity in accordance with the requirements
of the Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988 of the Commonwealth that apply
in respect of the opening of a bank account.
(4) On receiving an application
for a permit, the Commissioner may carry out such investigations and inquiries
as the Commissioner considers necessary to enable the Commissioner to consider
the application properly.
