287A Reviews prior to referral
(1) A worker may request an insurer to review a claim after the insurer has
disputed the claim or any aspect of the claim. A request may be made at any
time before the dispute is referred to the Registrar for determination by the
Commission.
(2) On such a request, the insurer must review the claim not
later than 14 days after the request is made and may accept the claim or, if
the insurer determines that it disputes liability in respect of the claim or
any aspect of the claim, must give notice of the dispute to the claimant.
(3)
The notice must contain the matters required to be set out under section 74 in
a notice of a dispute and may contain such other information as the
regulations may prescribe.
(4) The notice is to comply with the other
requirements for a notice given under section 74.
