Threshold amount of compensation
20 Threshold amount of compensation
(1) Statutory compensation is not payable to a single person unless the total
amount of compensation payable to that person, as compensation for
compensable injuries, is at least: (a) subject to paragraph (b)-$7,500, or
(b) such other amount as is prescribed by the regulations.
(3) This section
does not apply to statutory compensation payable to family victims or
statutory compensation for prescribed expenses.
(3A) For the purposes of this
section: (a) the total amount of compensation payable to a person as
compensation for compensable injuries is the total amount arrived at after any
reduction in that compensation to be made under section 19, 30 or 31 or the
schedule of compensable injuries, and
(b) no other reduction in that
compensation made under this Act is to be taken into account in determining
the total amount of that compensation.
(4) This section applies despite any
other provision of this Act.
