UNLAWFUL GAMBLING ACT 1998 - SECT 49

49 Evidentiary provisions relating to betting

(1) In any proceedings for an offence under this Act, any allegation in the information in respect of the offence that:

(a) a bookmaker accepted bets on a sports event on a date specified in the information and that the sports event was not an event declared by the Minister to be a sports betting event under section 18 of the Racing Administration Act 1998 , or

(b) betting took place at a racecourse on a date specified in the information and at a time lawful betting could not take place at the racecourse,

is evidence of the truth of the allegation concerned unless the contrary is proved.
