TOW TRUCK INDUSTRY ACT 1998 - SECT 23
Requirement for tow truck drivers to hold drivers certificates
(1) A person must not: (a) drive or stand a licensed tow truck on a road or
road related area at any time, or
(b) use or operate, or assist in the use or
operation of, a licensed tow truck on a road or road related area at any time,
or
(c) drive or stand a tow truck (other than a licensed tow truck) on a road
or road related area at any time for the purposes of towing a motor vehicle
for fee or reward,
unless the person holds a drivers certificate. Maximum
penalty: 50 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.
(2) A
certified driver must not carry on any kind of towing work other than the kind
of towing work that is authorised by the drivers certificate. Maximum penalty:
50 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.
