TERRORISM (POLICE POWERS) ACT 2002 - SECT 36
Review of Act
36 Review of Act
(1) The Minister is to review this Act to determine whether the policy
objectives of the Act remain valid and whether the terms of the Act remain
appropriate for securing those objectives.
(1A) For the purpose of the
review, the Minister may require the Commissioner of Police or the
Commissioner for the New South Wales Crime Commission to provide information
about the exercise of functions in respect of covert search warrants under
this Act by members of the NSW Police Force, members of the Crime Commission
or members of staff of the Crime Commission.
(1B) For the purposes of the
review, the Minister may require the Commissioner of Police to provide
information about the exercise of functions under Part 2A by police officers.
(2) The review is to be undertaken, every 3 years, as soon as possible after
the reports of the Ombudsman under sections 26ZO and 27ZC have been tabled in
each House of Parliament.
(3) A report on the outcome of the review is to be
tabled in each House of Parliament within 12 months after the end of each
period referred to in subsection (2).
