Non-assignability of benefits
57 Non-assignability of benefits
(1) Lump sum benefits under this Act and other payments from the Fund shall
not be in any way assigned or charged or passed by operation of law to any
person other than the person who is entitled thereto under this Act.
(2)
Nothing in this section prevents the Board from making, at the request of a
person to whom an amount by way of a benefit is payable, a payment of the
whole or a part of the amount on behalf of the person.
(3) Any payment made
under subsection (2) shall be deemed to have been made to the person entitled
to the benefit.
