TRANSPORT APPEAL BOARDS ACT 1980 - SECT 4
Definitions
4 Definitions
(1) In this Act, except in so far as the context or subject-matter otherwise
indicates or requires:
"appeal" means a promotion appeal or a disciplinary appeal to a Board.
"Authority" means Rail Corporation New South Wales or the State Transit
Authority.
"Board" means a Transport Appeal Board constituted under this Act.
"Chairperson" means the Chairperson of Transport Appeal Boards appointed under
section 5 (1).
"disciplinary appeal" means a disciplinary appeal within the meaning of the
Transport Administration (Staff) Regulation 2000 .
"functions" includes powers, authorities and duties.
"member" means a member of a Board.
"officer" includes employee.
"promotion appeal" means a promotion appeal within the meaning of the
Transport Administration (Staff) Regulation 2000 .
"regulation" means a regulation under this Act.
"secretary" means the secretary to the Transport Appeal Boards.
"Vice-Chairperson" means a Vice-Chairperson of Transport Appeal Boards
appointed under section 6 (1).
(2) A reference in this Act to the exercise of
a function includes, where that function is a duty, the performance of that
duty.
(3) In a Schedule to this Act, a reference to a subclause is, unless a
contrary intention appears, a reference to a subclause of the clause in which
the reference occurs.
(4) Notes included in this Act do not form part of this
Act.
