Constitution of RTA
46 Constitution of RTA
(1) There is constituted by this Act a corporation with the corporate name of
the Roads and Traffic Authority of New South Wales.
(2) The
Roads and Traffic Authority: (a) has the functions conferred or imposed on it
by or under this Act, the Roads Act 1993 , the Road Transport (General) Act
2005 , the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act 1988 , the
Road Transport (Heavy Vehicles Registration Charges) Act 1995 , the
Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998 , the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998
or any other Act, and
(b) is, for the purposes of any Act, a statutory body
representing the Crown.
(3) The Roads and Traffic Authority cannot employ any
staff. Note: Staff may be employed under Chapter 1A of the
Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 in the Government Service to
enable the RTA to exercise its functions.
