TRAVEL AGENTS ACT 1986 - SECT 54
Secrecy
54 Secrecy
(1) This section applies to a person who is or has been: (a) a member of the
Tribunal,
(b) the Director-General,
(c) an authorised person referred to in
section 44 (1) or 45 (1),
(d) the Registrar of the Tribunal,
(e) the Deputy
Registrar of the Tribunal,
(f) a member of the staff assisting the
Director-General or the Registrar of the Tribunal, or
(g) a person employed
under section 19 of the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal Act 2001 .
(2)
A person to whom this section applies shall not, either directly or
indirectly, except in legal proceedings or in the exercise or performance of a
power, authority, duty or function under or in connection with this Act, the
Fair Trading Act 1987 , the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal Act 2001 or
the corresponding Acts, or proposed Acts, of the legislature of the
Commonwealth or of another State or of a Territory, make a record of, or
divulge or communicate to any person, any information concerning the affairs
of any person acquired by the person by reason of the person’s office or
employment under or for the purposes of this Act. Penalty: 20 penalty units.
