STOCK MEDICINES ACT 1989 - SECT 54
Inspector may require information
54 Inspector may require information
(1) An inspector may at any time require the buyer or seller of any
stock medicine or of any substance or article reasonably suspected of being a
stock medicine: (a) to state his or her name and address, and
(a1) to state
the name and address of the person from whom the stock medicine, substance or
article was bought or to whom it was sold, and
(b) to provide such other
information in connection with the purchase or sale as the inspector may
reasonably require, and
(c) to produce for inspection any invoice, agreement,
circular or advertisement given to the buyer or seller in connection with the
sale.
(2) A person must not, without lawful excuse: (a) refuse or fail to
comply with any such requirement to the extent that he or she is capable of
complying with it, or
(b) refuse or fail to produce any such invoice,
agreement, circular or advertisement.
Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.
(3) In this section, a reference to a buyer or seller that is a corporation
includes a reference to any officer or employee of the corporation.
