STOCK MEDICINES ACT 1989 - SECT 51
Search warrant
51 Search warrant
(1) An inspector may apply to an authorised officer for the issue of a search
warrant if the inspector has reasonable grounds for believing that a provision
of this Act or the regulations has been or is being contravened in any
dwelling or other place.
(2) The authorised officer to whom the application
is made may, if satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for doing so,
issue a search warrant authorising the inspector named in the warrant, when
accompanied by a member of the Police Force: (a) to enter any premises or
place, and
(b) to search the premises or place for evidence of a
contravention of this Act or the regulations.
(3) Division 4 of Part 5 of the
Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 applies to a search
warrant issued under this section.
(4) In this section:
"authorised officer" has the same meaning as it has in the Law Enforcement
(Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 .
