STOCK DISEASES ACT 1923 - SECT 6
Inspectors
(1) The Director-General may appoint a person to be an inspector for the
purposes of this Act.
(2) The Director-General may authorise in writing any
person to perform any or all of the duties and exercise any or all of the
powers of an inspector.
(3) The Director-General may: (a) revoke an
appointment made, and
(b) amend or revoke an authority given,
under this
section.
(4) An appointment of a person or an authority given to a person
under this section in the person’s capacity as an officer or a temporary
employee of the Public Service employed in the Department or in some other
capacity shall be deemed to be revoked if the person ceases to be such an
officer or a temporary employee or to be employed in that other capacity.
(4A) Despite subsection (4), a person who: (a) was appointed as an inspector
or authorised to perform any duties, or exercise any powers, of an inspector
by an authorisation revoked by that subsection, and
(b) is subsequently
employed in a capacity in which the person is required by the Director-General
to perform the duties, or exercise the powers, of an inspector,
may, while the
person is employed in that capacity, perform those duties and exercise those
powers as if the former appointment or authorisation were still in force.
(5)
An inspector shall have, and may exercise, the duties and powers imposed or
conferred on the inspector by or under this Act.
