SUPREME COURT ACT 1970 - SECT 123A
Deputies for barrister and solicitor members
123A Deputies for barrister and solicitor members
(1) The Chief Justice may, from time to time, appoint to the Rule Committee:
(a) a barrister to be the deputy of the barrister member appointed under
section 123 (1) (e), and
(b) a solicitor to be the deputy of the solicitor
member appointed under section 123 (1) (e),
and the Chief Justice may revoke
any such appointment.
(2) In the absence of a member appointed under section
123 (1) (e), the member’s deputy: (a) may, if available, act in the place of
the member, and
(b) while so acting, has the functions of the member and is
taken to be the member.
