SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ACT 1984 - SECT 6
Functions of the Corporation
(1) For the purpose of enabling the Corporation to achieve any of its objects,
the Corporation: (a) shall investigate such matters relating to the
small business sector of the economy as the Minister may refer to the
Corporation,
(b) may, on its own motion, investigate any other matters
relating to the small business sector of the economy,
(c) may, in the course
of carrying out an investigation referred to in paragraph (a) or (b), conduct
enquiries, and
(d) shall have and may exercise such functions relating to the
development of the small business sector of the economy as the Minister may
from time to time confer or impose on it.
(2) The Corporation cannot employ
any staff. Note: Staff may be employed under Chapter 1A of the
Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 in the Government Service to
enable the Corporation to exercise its functions.
