Benefit on attaining 65
23A Benefit on attaining 65
(1) A person who attains 65 years of age may elect to be paid the
basic benefit and any Commonwealth co-contribution benefit to which the person
would be entitled on retirement at that age or may elect to preserve the whole
of those benefits.
(4) If an amount is preserved under this section, it is
payable in the same way as a benefit under section 24.
(5) A person to whom
this section applies is not entitled to any other benefit under this Act in
respect of the same period of service, or to be paid or preserve a benefit
under this section more than once.
