RETIREMENT VILLAGES ACT 1999 - SECT 69
Residents to be given access to information about them
69 Residents to be given access to information about them
(1) The operator of a retirement village: (a) must, on request at any
reasonable time, give a resident access to any information about the resident
that is held by the operator, and
(b) must give the resident a copy of that
information if the resident requests it, and
(c) if the resident satisfies
the operator that any of the information is incorrect-must correct the
information, on request, in accordance with the resident’s instructions.
Note: Section 197 prohibits an operator of a retirement village from charging
the resident for giving access to the information or providing a copy of it.
(2) If the operator fails to comply with a request made under this section,
the resident concerned may apply to the Tribunal for (and the Tribunal may
make) an order directing the operator to comply.
