RETIREMENT VILLAGES ACT 1999 - SECT 19
Information to be provided to prospective residents
(1) The Director-General may approve the content and form of information that
the operator of a retirement village must provide to a prospective resident of
the retirement village.
(2) An operator of a retirement village must not,
without reasonable excuse, fail to provide the approved information in the
approved form at or before the time the general inquiry document is provided
to the prospective resident or person acting on behalf of the
prospective resident. Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
(3) Without limiting
subsection (1), the approved information may relate to any of the following:
(a) the retirement village industry generally,
(b) the rights and
responsibilities of residents of retirement villages,
(c) living within a
strata scheme.
