RECREATION VEHICLES ACT 1983 - SECT 22
Surrender of registration plates
(1) Within 3 days after the registration of a motor vehicle ceases to have
effect, the person who was the registered owner of the motor vehicle
immediately before the registration ceased to have effect shall surrender the
registration plate or registration plates for the motor vehicle to the Roads
and Traffic Authority. Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.
(2) Where the
registration of a motor vehicle has ceased to have effect, an
authorised officer or any person authorised by the Roads and Traffic Authority
in that behalf may seize any registration plate relating to the motor vehicle.
