RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT 1987 - SECT 8
Standard form of residential tenancy agreement
(1) The regulations may prescribe a standard form of
residential tenancy agreement.
(2) The regulations may provide for: (a) more
than one standard form of residential tenancy agreement, or
(b) the addition
of clauses to, or the omission or variation of clauses contained in, the
standard form or forms,
for use in relation to different classes of
residential premises, agreements or parties.
(3) A prescribed standard form
of residential tenancy agreement: (a) shall be deemed to contain all terms
included in the agreement by Part 3,
(b) may set out those terms or
provisions to the same effect, and
(c) may contain other terms not
inconsistent with this Act.
(4) A prescribed standard form of
residential tenancy agreement shall include a condition report relating to the
condition of the residential premises, to be completed in accordance with the
regulations.
(5) A prescribed standard form of residential tenancy agreement
may not exclude the operation or vary the effect of any of the terms referred
to in subsection (3) (a).
