A person must not, except in such circumstances as may be prescribed by the
regulations, require or receive from:
(a) a resident or prospective resident, or
(b) any person on behalf of a resident or prospective resident,an amount in consideration for not letting residential premises pending the making of a residential tenancy agreement.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
