RURAL FIRES ACT 1997 - SECT 74C
How and to whom are complaints to be made
74C How and to whom are complaints to be made
(1) A bush fire hazard
complaint is to be made by giving it, or sending it by post: (a) if the
complaint relates to unoccupied Crown land or managed land for which a public
authority is responsible-to the Commissioner, or
(b) in the case of any other
land-to the local authority of the local government area in which the land is
located.
(2) A bush fire hazard complaint must be made in writing, must
identify the complainant and must state the grounds for the complaint.
(3) A
local authority must refer any complaint made to it under this Division to the
Commissioner within 14 days of receipt of the complaint.
(4) Written notice
of the making of the complaint and the grounds of the complaint are to be
given to the owner or occupier or public authority responsible for the land to
which the complaint relates as soon as practicable after receipt of the
complaint.
