Functions of Bush Fire Management Committees
51 Functions of Bush Fire Management Committees
(1) A Bush Fire Management
Committee has such functions as are conferred or imposed on it by or under
this or any other Act.
(1A) A Bush Fire Management Committee must, within 2
months after the end of each financial year, report to the Bush Fire
Co-ordinating Committee on implementation of each bush fire risk management
plan in force for the rural fire district or other part of the State for which
the Bush Fire Management Committee is constituted.
(2) A Bush Fire Management
Committee is to have regard to the principles of ecologically sustainable
development described in section 6 (2) of the
Protection of the Environment Administration Act 1991 in carrying out any
function that affects the environment.
