(1) The State Revenue Commissioner must give to
each relevant council that is required to pay a rural fire brigade
contribution for a financial year an assessment notice that sets out the
amount of the rural fire brigade contribution payable by the relevant council
for that year.
(2) The assessment notice must be given to the relevant
council by 30 April in the year before the financial year for which the rural
fire brigade contribution is payable.
