Decontamination and acquisition of premises
21 Decontamination and acquisition of premises
(1) The Authority may cause to be undertaken, or facilitate the undertaking
of, the decontamination, or the removal and disposal, of premises contaminated
by radioactivity.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the Authority or
the Health Administration Corporation constituted under the Health
Administration Act 1982 is authorised to acquire premises contaminated by
radioactivity.
(3) This section does not prevent the acquisition, by the
Crown or by any authority of the State, of any premises contaminated by
radioactivity.
(4) For the purposes of this section, premises are to be
regarded as contaminated by radioactivity if the premises or a part of the
premises have a level of radioactivity of or above the level prescribed for
the purposes of this section.
